Fate Carving: Notes On The Art of Tattoo and Magic ✧ 刻劃命運：古今魔法和刺青雜談

Fate - the ever elusive question of humans. Can our fate be changed? Or has it been carved since our birth? In this session Denise and Michael - practitioners of trolldom and Eastern Esotericism respectively, will discuss this topic through their mutual interest, tattoos. 

An art form employed by humans since ancient times, to write or draw on skin as a means to record, to connect with the spirit world, to heal and to beautify. How does it differ in the past and the current society? They will look at it from the spiritual perspective, to distinguish its purpose and roles.

From here the study will be extended to magic and timing of operation, and if performing magic or carving out a runic tattoo on a person brings any changes. In the Nordic beliefs, the Norns residing under the Yggdrasil are responsible for carving humans’ fate, is it non-negotiable? Or can we make arrangements with them to replace the old and forge a new path?

There will also be some friends who have magical tattoos on them to share about what happened in their life before and after, as well as showcasing some that they have done with their Trollrún project. 命運 —— 人類自古以來的命題。到底命運是否能改變？抑或是由出生起已經註定？在這次分享中，會由北歐巫術實踐者Denise @deniseistrollcunning 和東方命理的修習者及刺青師Michael @inknimitta 透過兩者之間的共同興趣 —— 刺青，開展有關於命運的討論。

自古代起人類已有刺青等人體改造的文化，是為一種藝術。在人體上刻劃寫上文字或畫上圖案，是用作紀錄、與靈的世界建立連結、治療、或者美化。在當代和傳統社會中，這些儀式有什麼分別？這次會集中以靈性的角度來探討他們的功能和角色。

由此延伸至魔法和操作時間，與及連帶著，當在一個人身上施展法術或作符咒刺青會否對其帶來任何改變。在北歐文化中，住在世界之樹底下的命運三女神諾恩斯負責著刻劃人類命運的工作，這是否不容商榷的？還是我們其實是有機會跟她們協商更換舊有的事物而獲得新的路徑？
